Fun game. Multiplayer felt a little slow, but the controls were very intuitive.
Awesome game. Well done!
Super hard but quite fun!
Liked this game a lot! neat design/product/implementation.
I don't get the game. The graphics seem pretty cool but the gameplay is buggy. I don't see any other ships, is this some sort of multiplayer? Also the directions and shooting are messed up. When moving in any direction the left key just doesn't work!!
fun game! One thought I'd love to have some objectives or bots so you don't have to always be dependent on other users
Love it! :)
This was good fun! I came across this even before the contest is over and loved it! Great to see it have become more polished. Felt some glitches when playing with my co-worker. Re-spawning part could use some animations so its more apparent thats what happened. Felt bit of a lag but thats expected and alright. Good job!
Had a lot of fun despite it being a little hard to maneuver the spaceships. I was hoping WASD keys worked but only arrow keys, so I found what worked better for me was to use my left hand for the arrow keys and my right hand for the spacebar. Background music sounds awesome but it would have been nice to add some sound effects for the missiles as well. Also, there could be more modes, like have the spaceship move forward by default, using the up arrow as a boost. Nevertheless, great work and fun game despite the 48-hour time limit!
OOOO THEM SCANLINES THO
We did a similar project last year! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb2WlsH2ivI
I LOVE the art direction here (as I look over at my Vectrex
This was fun to play. I had two others online with me, and it was generally smooth. I noticed some bullet/laser drawings didn't get cleaned up properly, so I'm not sure if that's client cleanup or server cleanup that needed to be fixed. I think I would have preferred sound effects over music if it were down to the two, but the music wasn't bad either. Thrusting felt a little slow, but it's tolerable, considering you're probably using some sort of physics (p2?). Because it was pretty smooth using js on the main thread, I think that might count towards some innovation points. Good job, Kosmetica!
Awesome polished look!
Seems to be some issues with the backend handling the realtime connections, so the realtime aspect wasn't quite there
Tips: Look for possible memory leaks / unclosed websocket connections that might be slowing things down. Try and reduce the payload sent over websocket connections.
Hard to test with no one else in but looks like you got all the basics working! Would be nice if there were asteroids to shoot if not other ships are around.
I like the aesthetic and level of polish!
Really nicely designed (visual and audio) take on the classic Asteroids game.
It would be nice if there were some asteroids floating around as well so that I had something to attack when no one else was logged in.
Hopefully you keep this running because it's fun enough to come back to.
